Today’s advertisements make an impact in our society. There are many advertisements that have influenced in our lives. There are many experts on advertising that transform a simple face cream in a magic cream that make people look younger. Many people believe these advertisement because you see in the advertisement a woman who tells that she has 50 years old and she looks like 30 years old because she has used that cream, so people ,mostly women, spend a lot of money in that cream that when they realised that it doesn’t work as they thought is too late. Then we have the advertisements that make the famous. The ad men hire famous people to advertise their products(perfumes, cars, shoes, razor blades, clothes, coffee…) so we see them that use those products, we like it because they have them and we want to buy it but mostly young people because it’s easy to manipulate us is we see our famous singer or actor or actress advertising a perfume. So we see many people with the hair of Cristiano Ronaldo everywhere or with the shoes of Messi.

But this is normal because everywhere we look, we see advertisements: in our TV, our computer, streets, magazines… so it’s difficult to resist temptation of buying everything we see. As a result of that we have a lot of things that we don’t use and an advertisement company is winning money for our shopping.

Blog of the week- Shakespeare

If you like reading tragedic books, you can go to the library and take a book of Shakespeare wwho was a great playwright. He shows us  his talent in plays like 'Romeo','Hamlet', or 'Otelo'. These plays have a tragedic ending.

These plays are still being represented in many theatres and also we can see them in movies. In conclusion, Shakespeare's plays still have a strong influence today because some of his plays treat current topics.

Blog of the Week- Environment

 One problem in today’s society is the contamination. Since our planet is very developed there are much air pollution because of the exhaust fumes from millions of vehicles, chemical wastes from factories, poisonous smoke from the power stations and other pollution products. That can cause unwanted changes like the climate change, the rising of the sea level and to deplete the ozone layer.

I think that people are enough concerned with the contamination and the protection of the natural environment but most of them do not want to help. Many people who don’t care the environment throw rubbish into the lakes, mountains, streets and that is very dangerous for us and animals too because if you throw rubbish into the lakes or oceans can damage to marine animals or if you throw rubbish into the mountains that can cause a fire and kill many animals and plants.

In my family we like to recycle but the one who recycles more is my father. He separates all the rubbish. For example he has a rubbish bin for the oil, another from the batteries and other for the paper and carton; the plastic and the organic rubbish. 

To embrace green politics would be a great solution in our society. Many companies of cars have created electric cars in order to avoid these exhausting fumes. Also we count with a lot of rubbish bins for each litter. The contamination can be very dangerous because of that we are changing the average temperature and we are also destroying the polar ice.

Blog of the week- Daniel Craig

Daniel Wroughton Craig was born on 2 March of 1968 is an English actor. Craig was born in Chester, Cheshire. He is known specially for interpret the role of James Bond in films such as ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Quantum of Solace’, ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’.

Since he had fourteen, he had interpreted in his high school roles in plays such as ‘Oliver!’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Cinderella’.

When he was sixteen he left the school and moved to London where he was admitted in the National Youth Theatre. He had to work in restaurants to finance his training there. He also was accepted to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama at the Barbican, where he graduated in 1991.

We can also see Daniel Craig in other films such as ‘Dream House’, 'The girl with the Dragon tattoo'(based on the novel The Man who Hate Women, ‘Infamous’, ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ or ‘The Outsider’.

Blog of the week- The Sims

Have you ever dream of having a big house or being famous? Maxi makes it possible with the game of The Sims.

Since 2000 we can create our own life and have what we like. In the game you control a Sim which is the same that a person. You have to create it first as you want; a boy or a girl with green eyes, black hair; you can choose their zodiac sign too; their hobbies and also in the last Sims you can choose their personalities.

Once you have created you own Sim or even your Sims' family you can go to the neighborhood and choose te house where the SIms are going to live or if you want you can create the house that you want but you have to keep an eye on the money that your Sims have or they will not e able to pay the bills

When you have installed your Sims in the house the first thing you have to do is search a job because if you don't do it they can't pay the bills or they can't buy food so they will finsh witouth the house and they can die (if they don't find food).

But that is not all the things that you can do in the game because if that were all it will look like probably your real life. The Sims count with a lot of  expansion and stuffs packs: for example in the Sims 2, which is the game that I have, you can travel around the world and visit the Tiwikki Island, Three lakes and Takemizu Village, where you can discover a lot of new things. Also you can go to University, Open your own bussines, decorate you house with things of IKEA...

The best part of the game I think is that you can become a creature. In each expansion pack you can become a different creature: a vampire,  zombie, werevolve, plantsim, witch... But it's difficult that your Sim become one of that creature.

If you want to make the life of your Sim easier you can do a little of cheat. In The Sims 2 there are a lot of  tricks to do that. For example: if you want to ear money withouth work you can type the word 'motherlode' to earn 50.000 simoleons.

Description paragraph

The most important person in my life is my mum. When I was young I was always with her because I felt very comfortable  with her. I like to tell her my problems because she always will help me  with them. She is not very big and she has brown hair and brown eyes. She is a happy person. Also when I am sad she makes me feel better. We doing a lot of things togheter like watching films  or shopping. We rarely get angry with each other. She is a good mum but when I go out with my friends at night she gets very nervous because she is worried about  me. She is also  also very patient.

Blog of the Week- My Christmas time

Every year on Christmas eve my family and I go to the house on my cousins and we celebrate that night with my grandmother, my uncles and the uncles of my cousines.

We prepare the dinner and we also we prepare the tables. At 9 o'clock we dinner. Usually the dinner is prepared by my grandmother; she make soup, turkey, salade...Later at 12 o'clock  we receive our gifts and we enjoy them for a moment.

In New Year I never do the same thing but most of the years we invite to my grandmother to my house and we dinner and after eating the gapes I go out with my friends to celebrate the New Year.

And finally in the Wise Man day my family and I go to my grandmother's house with my cousins and my uncles too. We eat there and we spend the day togheter.

Blog of the week- City of Angels.

City of Angels (1998) is a film directed by Brad Silberling. The film is about Seth (Nicolas Cage) who is an angel that falls in love with Maggie (Meg Ryan) a surgeon. Maggie didn't know that Seth was an angel and she fell in love with Seth too. Maggie was angry because Seth didn't leave her to touch him and one day she discovered that Seth wasn't human.

The work of the angels was pick up the soul of the dead people and when Seth was in the hospital where Maggie works, he met a patient who could feel him and he talked to him and he told Seth that he was an angel too but when he met his wife he became a human.

Finally, Seth decided to become a human too and when he did it he ran to the hospital but he didn't find Maggie but he saw a friend of Maggie and she told him where she was.

Then Seth went to the house of Maggie to talk with her. They were very happy because they were together, but the next day Maggie went out alone to buy food and she didn't saw a truck because she was distracted and the truck killed her. Seth felt that something was wrong and left the house and ran where Maggie was. When Seth arrived she was very bad and she finally died.

Days after Seth was very sad and his friend who was an angel appeared in his house to talk with him and Seth decided to return to his life of angel.

Writing an Essay- Smartphones. A great invention?

Nowadays everybody has a smartphone. In fact, smartphones are more and more used, even old people have one. They are very useful but they can cause problems.

On the one and, we can keep in touch with our family and friends every time with 'Facebook' or 'Whatsapp'. ALso if we have a problem or an emergency, for example: we are lost, we can use our smartphone to be located. In addition, today's smartphones are very developed. They have cameras of high resolution, webcams, many memory, they are very fast...

On the other hand, smartphones present some problems. They can be addictive. We can see people who are crossing the road while they are talkin on the phone, also we see friends that instead of talking to each other, they are sending text messages to other people. Furthermore,if we use too much  the smartphone we can lose our social life because we will not see our friends anymore. Finally many young people do not have privacy because all they do are posted on 'Instagram' or 'Twitter' and it will be seen by many people.

In conclusion, smartphones have brought us many positive effects like the immediate contac with family and friends but they also ave disadvantages like lose our friends and social life.

Blog of the week- Love in the time of cholera

Love in the time of Cholera is book written by Gabriel García Márquez. I think that it is my favourite book.
It is about a boy called Florentino Ariza who fell in love with Fermina Daza. They start to send messages  to each other. the father of Fermina Daza didn't approve the relationship so he decide to travel with his daughter to the house of their family, so she didn't see Florentino Ariza, but they try to talk with the telegraph.
When Ferina Daza returned of her travel, and while she was with her maid in the market, she and Florentino Ariza met but Fermina Daza realised that she wasn't in love with him and she said good bye to Florentino Ariza and he felt very sad. One day Fermina Daza was ill and her father called to a doctor whose name was Juvenal Urbino, when he saw Fermina Daza he also fell in love with her but Fermina Daza didn't like him but finally they went out together. Florentino Ariza started to go on dates with many women but he was still in love with Fermina Daza.
Years later Fermina Daza and Juvenal Urbino got married  and when Florentino Ariza heard it he felt very sad because he loved Fermina Daza. Fermina and Juvenal formed a family and they lived happy together.
But one day Juvenal fell of a stair and he died. Then Florentino went to the house of Fermina to comfort her and he told her that he still loving her but Fermina shouted at him and Florentino left the house. Florentino decided to write a letter to Fermina saying sorry and Fermina decided to forgive him.
They started to meet and finally Florentino and Fermina went on vacation and finally Fermina fell in love again with Florentino.

Unity and Coherence- Public transport

Nowadays the transportation is very important. Most of the time we need to go to a place that is far from us, for example the work, the school, the university, the house of a friend, the supermarket...
Many people don't have a car so they need to get a bus or a taxi to get there.

In general the majority of the people have a car to go where they want. But for the people who can't afford a car or are on holidays need to use the public transport. In a city there are many people who use the public transport because it's more safe than travel in car. You can evite the traffic too.

 In addition public transport can reduce the contamination. Today there are more and more cars on the highway so there are more contamination than ever,  Also the puclic transport make our travel shorter than in car. Modern public transport can have television ans you can watch a film and it can make your travel more enjoyable.

In conclusion, people should think of using public transport because it reduces the contamination and it helps the environment. Also it has advantages for us because we evite the traffic and our travel can be shorter if we see a film.

Technology has changed in the last years. Nowaday we use techlonoly for almost everything, if we want to buy something we ca do it on our computer ot if we want to see the news we can see them on our TV or if we want to talk with friends we use the mobile phone.


Because of the developing of the technology our lives has changed. Everywhere we look we see technology: TV, mobilesphones, radios, cars... and that make our everyday life more useful.

Blog of the week-Halloween

I always like to celebrate Halloween. When I was younger I used to dress up for Halloween and go out with my friends to houses asking for sweets. Not all the people gave us sweets, so they gave us money. We spent all the night eating sweets and dividing the money. Then we used to go to one house and told horror stories. Finally we went to sleep when we got tired.

Nowadays we do a Halloween party in one house, we decorate it with Halloween things as spider's webs, skeletons, witches, demons, pumpkins, blood, ghosts, bats, tombstones... so we are scared all the time. We also like to scare the children who come asking for sweets. For dinner we make pizza in form of a mummy. After that, we see horror films all the night and also we tell horror stories for finish and when it's very late we go to sleep but we don't sleep at all because we are scared.

Blog of the week- Crimson Peak

Last week I went to the cinema and I saw the last film of Guillermo del Toro, Crimson Peak. It's a dramatic film. When Edith was a child her mother died  because of cholera. Then Edith started to see the ghost of her mother and she told her: 'Beware with the Crimson Peak'. But Edith didn't understand it. Fourteen years later Edith meets Sir Thomas Sharpe who came to her father's factory to show him his invent. It was a great inent but Thomas needed money to build it, but Edith's father didn't gave him the money. Then Edith fell in love with Thomas but her father dissaprove the relationaship because Sir Thomas and his sister Lucille were thieves. So Edith's father bribe them. The next day someone killes Edith's father. Then Alan, a friend of Edith, dissaprove the relationaship of Thomas and Edith too. But Finally Edith and Thomas get married. They went to live to the house of Thomas and Lucille. Since Edith went to live there, she started to see ghosts of women and she was getting very ill. Alan thanks to a detective discovered that Thomas was already married three times because he and his sister neded the money to build Thomas' invent, Edith also discovered that Lucille was the person who killed the ghosts of the women that shee sees. Edith got angry because Thomas betrayed her and Lucille wanted to kill her too. Then Alan arrived to save Edith  but Lucille tried kill him and he couldn't do anything. At the end Thomas realised that his sister was a monster and tries to help Alan and Edith because he fell in love with Edith unintentionally. But when Lucille discovered that he fell in love with Edith, she became jealous and she killed her brother. Finally Edith killed Lucille and she and Alan ecaped from the crimson peak.

Comparise and contrast paragraph

Picture A is very different from picture B. In picture A we can see a band of young people probably playing rock music. Wee see two boys, on of them is singing and the other is playing the guitar. The two boys are wearing informal clothes and the hair of one of them is red. On the other hand, picture B, we have an old man who is playing on a orchestra. His instrument is the bass guitar. probably the orchestra is playing classical music. We see that the man wears formal clothes. Although the two pictures refer to the music, they are very different. Rock music needs one singer to sing the song and instruments, while classical music needs a director and instruments because it doesn't have lyrics.

Blog of the week- Cheeto

Cheeto is my lovebird. It is only four months because I got it as a baby, so I had to give it the baby food. This type of birds only eat baby food when they are babies and you have to do it with a syringe. But now Cheeto eats birds' food. Lovebirds are very loving birds. They can give you a lot of kisses but when they are playing or they are angry can hurt you with their beak in form of hook. There a lot of lovebirds' breed with different colours, Cheeto have a red beak and its feathers are orange, yellow and white but I think that it has to change its colours. Lovebirds are also very clever. Cheeto know how to open his jail because it doesn't like to stay locked, so we have to lock the door. If you teach them to talk they can learn too but not at the same way as a parrot. Lovebirds are very clean, they like to have a bath but Cheeto doesn't like water, he is a little dirty. When we try to bath him it always runs away. When it is tired he likes to sleep behind me and it tweets because it is comfortable.

Blog of the week- Ayna

Last year my family and I went on holidays to Ayna, a village of Albacete. We booked in internet a little hostel. The journey was long and we were tired, so we went to rest to our rooms.After we had rested, we did a lot of trekking because  we got lost returning to the hostel. Also  we took a lot of photographs  because Ayna has a beautiful and breathtaking scenery. Then we went to dinner outside because the hostel didn't have menu, it only was included in the price the breakfast. The next day we continue doing trekking and we visited a lake where we could bathing, the water was very cold but it was very clear. In the night, after dinner, we went to a handmade market and then we went to listen to musicians. The last day we went to the town centre to visit an old church and after that we left the village and we returned home. I think Ayna it's a beautiful village and also in Ayna was made an old film called ''Amanece que no es poco''. It was released in 1989 and was directed by José Luis Cuerda. You can visit in Ayna the places where the film was made.

Opinion paragraph.

Recently cinema's prices have increased a lot in the latest years. The prices of the films now cost about seven or eight euros, depending if the film is in 3D or digital. I think that prices of the films should be cheaper because there is only a day ( Wednesday) where the cinema is cheaper, These days are called the spectator's day and there are a lot of people there so if you don't reserve your ticket you probably won't see the film that you want. Unfortunately the prices of the spectator's day are increasing too, I think that the prices of these days, they must keep the same because of the highest prices of the cinema there's another thing that is increasing too, the piracy. Many people who don't want to spend their money in tcinema's films, download movies on their computers that at the same time are in the cinema because it's free, of course. But piracy is a crime that is punished by the law with prison. In conlusion, it seems to me that it would better that the cinema drops its prices or it will start to lose money.

Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway was created 60 million years ago when a field of lava cooled and formed hexagonal blocks of basalt. It's situated in Northern Ireland.There is a legend that tells that two giants, one from Ireland and another from Staffa, threw rocks to each other and by this way they created a field of rocks. It looks like a place where you can go to see the waves of the sea and also you can relax. I think that is a cold place because it's near to the coast. Also it looks like a beautiful and quiet place because it's a deserted place. As soon as you see it, you feel like going in because it looks like a peaceful place and you can go there to listen the sea's waves and relax with them.

Blog of the Week- The Others.

Last Thursday I saw a film which name is ''The Others'' directer by Alejandro Almenábar. The film was released in 2001 and Nicole Kidman had the leading role in it.The film is based in 1945, a family formed by Grace (the mother), Nicholas ( the son) and Anne ( the daughter) are visited by three servants (Bertha Mills, sir Edmun Tuttle and Lydia) who want to work in the house of the family. Grace shows them the house and she explains them that they have to close all the windows because her kids are photosensitives and also they have to close all doors. After the three servants arrive at the house, strange things start to happen. Anne and Nicholas hear noises and Anne tell his brother and her mum that thse noises are from ghosts.But Grace doesn't believe her until she sees that a door that she closed, was open and also she finishes to hear these noises too. Grace decides to see a priest because she thinks that in the house are ghosts and their tombs are there. And in that moment we see that the servants have something to hide. Because of the mist, Grace can't go to see  the priest and has to return home but before that, she sees her husband who returned home after a war. They return to the house but the husband the next day left the house. That morning the kids of Grace start to scream because someone had removed the curtains. Grace blames the servants and she fires them. After that, Grace is looking in the bedroom of the servants when she sees a photograph of the servants and in the photo they were dead! At the same moment Anne and Nicholas discover the tombs of the servant and they realised that the servant are truly dead. The servants tried to advert the family what is happening but they didn't pay attetion. the noises that they were hearing are from the family who are living at the moment in the house. The servants and Grace, Anne and Nicholas were the ghost. And then the thrut was revealed: Grace killed her kids and after she killed herself and theis ghosts stay living in the house. I think this is a film different because we see the film in a different perspective : we see the life of the ghosts and not the life of the alive people.

Blog of the week- Videogames

Nowadays videogames are very developed. the first videogames were released in the 60's more or less. They wasn't very developed but in that years they became very famous and many people bought them. Two examples of games that were released in the 70's and 80's are '' Space Invaders'' and ''Pac-Man'', Who didn't play them?. I remember that one day, my father brought of my grandmother's house a computer called ''Amstrad''. That computer of the end of the 60's was very big and it had the screen green. As I have said before, the games weren't developed at all  and the images of the game were all the same.

 

But leaving these years, we have video games very developed and new video games platforms like ''Xbox'', ''Wii'', ''PSP'',''Nintendo DS'' and recently ''PS4''. I'm going to talk about a videogame of that last platform which name is ''Until Dawn''. ''Until Dawn'' was released on ausgust of this year. This game is about a group of teenagers who are living a nightmare in a house wood in the middle of a mountain. The game starts with two sisters that dead. A year after the friends and the of the sisters and Josh ( the brother of the sisters) go to that house wood. what the friends didn't know was that Josh had prepared a lilltle revenge for them because he blame them for the death of his sisters. But there is something more than the revenge of Josh. A course of the past will haunt to the characters. This game had a positive impact because of its realistic images. What makes this game different is that is based on take decisions. You are the only one who decide if the characters survive in the game. You will never guess what is happening until dawn.

Nowadays technology plays an important role in our lifes, but is technology as positive as we think? or it hides something  dark that we don't know?. In one hand, technology is very useful in our diary lifes: we can shop in internet, chat with friends every moment, meet people around the world, check the news...In the other hand we have some problems with internet, we use it so much and we don't pay attention to the danger situations. Most people walk with the mobile phone and they cross the street chatting with someone and in the moment they are crossing, there are a car which is coming and people don't see it because they are distracted. There are more danger situations like cyberbulling that is growing everyday. In conlusion, technology is more developed tan ever but with us technology is more dangerous too.
